Department Description: This is a full time posiiton, supporting Ambulatory Systems.Job Location: Boston, MAReq ID: 24228BRJob Summary: Leads project teams in the implementation of small and mid-size clinical systems into the production environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the project manager to create and maintain a project charter and plan with associated resources, milestones, and timeline needed to complete the project. Assists with development and maintenance of risk assessment & mitigation, communication, change management, and quality management project plans.

  • Develops and implements go live plans, including task list, timeline, staffing coverage, disaster contingency & recovery plans, and communication. Assists in staffing for other departmental go live activities as needed

  • Coordinates the kickoff and ongoing team meetings, prepare agendas, lead the discussions, and ensure meeting minutes are available for team members following the meeting.

  • Leads in the creation of end user training materials and operational policies and procedures related to day-to-day application functionality.

  • Actively participates in and staffs Enterprise Application Governance Meetings (User Groups, Steering Committees, work groups) by researching and analyzing enhancement requests. Presents discussion topics and implements follow up as directed by these governing bodies. Leads and participates in subcommittee work as needed.

  • Develops and maintains a solid understanding of BIDMC Clinical Applications such as the Outpatient Online Medical Record. Evaluates processes and systems tools that support clinician activity and documents system functionality. Identifies system needs and defines and implements solutions to meet customer expectations and requirements

  • Acts as a liaison between Information Systems and Clinical Departments, communicating user requirements to the programmers to ensure their understanding of the overall operational goals and system needs, including translating these needs into detailed, documented programming specifications. Oversees thorough testing of new features as well as documentation and communication.

  • Provides project management of the enhancement request process and other projects related to the use of enterprise clinical applications.

  • Provides ongoing and outstanding support and training to clinical and non-clinical users. Responds to user questions/emails/pages according to established service levels. Develops educational tools for clinical users.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • 3-5 years related work experience required.

  • Advanced technical computer skills as required for technical support specific to functional area and related systems.

  • Experience in project management and clinical or administrative systems analysis in the healthcare environment;

  • Comfortable working in various clinical and professional environments and with all types of people. Requires an open mind, respect for various patient populations and geographic locations. Ability to interact with people from all organizational levels and builds consensus through negotiation and diplomacy. Ability to be flexible in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
