Oracle Advanced Customer

Services (ACS), a global business unit within Oracle Support, focuses

exclusively on facilitating the continual operational improvement of customers’

Oracle environment—throughout the life of their Oracle solution. Majority of the

ACS services are delivered remotely and ACS Global Delivery centers is made up

of a number of highly skilled and experienced Oracle engineering teams in

charge of servicing a designated set of ACS Customers. Service delivery is

primarily remote and requires advanced knowledge of Oracle product stack from

an implementation and supportability standpoint. Advanced Customer Support

Job Description

As a member of the Oracle

Advanced Customer Services organization, your focus is to deliver post-sales

support and solutions to the Oracle customer base while serving as an advocate

for customer needs. This involves resolving post-sales non-technical customer

inquiries via phone and electronic means, as well as, technical questions

regarding the use of and troubleshooting for our Electronic Support Services. A

primary point of contact for customers, you are responsible for facilitating

customer relationships with Support and providing advice and assistance to

internal Oracle employees on diverse customer situations and escalated issues.

You will interface with the customer's IT staff on a regular basis. Either at

the client's site or from a remote location, you will be responsible for

resolution of moderately complex technical problems related to the

installation, recommended maintenance and use and repair/workarounds for Oracle

products. You should be highly experienced in some Oracle products and several

platforms that are being supported. You will be expected to work with only

general guidance from management while advising management on progress/status.

Job duties are varied and

complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. Because of

substantial customer interfacing, a demonstrated ability to work with customers

on an independent basis with exceptional communication skills, while

consistently achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction is

essential. Advanced Support Engineers typically comes from a strong technical

background and displays natural leadership qualities. This individual has a

very firm grasp of Oracle core technology product set including advanced

technologies e.g. Oracle Database, Data Guard, Golden Gate, RAC and Engineered

Systems. In addition, he/she has a solid conceptual understanding of the server

technology landscape including emergent areas e.g. Oracle Cloud. Strong soft

skills, effective communication style and a problem solving approach to situations

are necessary for this role.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of

experience as an Oracle Database Engineer/DBA

  • Very thorough and clear

understanding of Oracle Database Architecture, including the latest version of

Oracle Database.

  • Extensive knowledge and

solid troubleshooting experience in the following areas RAC, ASM, Performance

Tuning, Data Guard (Physical and Logical), Active Data Guard, and RMAN etc.

  • Experience in handling the

complex Oracle Database backup and recovery scenarios

  • Experience in

troubleshooting various installation, upgrade and patching issues

  • Experience in Engineered

Systems (Exadata, SuperCluster, Exalogic, and ODA) and Golden Gate

  • Excellent written and verbal

communication skills.

  • Ability to work under

pressure - quick thinking and remaining calm during stressful situations.

  • Willingness to work in the

rotation shifts and on weekends.

  • Ability to quickly grasp

complex technical issues and to learn new technologies and constantly improve

technical skills.

  • Oracle Database Certification

11g/12c (and RAC/GI 11g, Exadata, Golden Gate) is a big plus.

  • A Bachelor's degree in

Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
